Kovalam
In search of a clean and non-polluted beach? 16 kms away is a sheltered bay endowed with unusual beauty. This natural bay is a safe sea poll free from high waves and surges.
The drive from Trivamdrum to the beach through groves of palms is refreshing. You get tropical fresh fish, fruit and toddy (coconut beer). Kovalam retains a certain charm and is good for traveler’s craving for some rest and recreation on the long haul across the subcontinent.


Kumarakom
This wonderful bird sanctuary on the Vembanad lake is 16 km west of Kottayam situated in a former rubber plantation. Different migratory species are to be seen here. In the surroundings ; the coir factor is worth a visit. A stay in the house boat could be organised.

Alleppey
Is famous for the boatraces held annually in August/September, called the Nehru Trophy. The snake boatsthat are over 30 meters long with their raised prows, are beautifully decorated. As they glide off majestically, their crews of a 150 or more men, row in perfect time to the rhythm of traditional boat songs and set the backwaters on fire.
At Onam, the time of the harvest festival in Kerala, boat races are held at Aranmula and Kottayam as well. (Onam is the second Saturday of august.)


Cochin
Is the palm green commercial town of Kerala and one of the finest natural harbors in the world. Witness Kathakali dance or see a few islands around. Watch Chinese fishing nets strung out along the tip of Fort Cochin. The Mattancherry Palace built by the Portuguese, Jewish Synagogue and the Dutch palace are only a few of the beautiful attractions one can see in this fisherman's harbour.

Munnar
This beautiful hill station has gentle hills covered with velvety tea plantations. Rajamalay, Mattupatty, Echopoint, Topstation, Pallivasal, Devikkulam are only a few places to be mentioned here, that are worth to see.

Thekkady Periyar Tiger Reserve
The Periyar sanctuary is 11 km from Canaan valley and South India's most popular wild life sanctuary. Take a boat ride on the lake and watch elephants and other animals at close quarters. Great for trekking for example is the Tiger trail from 20 km to 35 km. And for a wonderful experience add an Elephant ride to your trip. Also a visit to the Tea factory is worth it.
